getting used to new

Hello.

My name is Michelle and I have a problem with keeping my blog updated.

Happy New Year!!!

I hope everyone has enjoyed most of January.

This new year has brought a lot of change into my life already. Troy got a new job. He’s liking it but there is a lot of training that he’s working through and that makes him goofy-er than he already is. When he’s not in training, he LOVES his co-workers. They’ve been really welcoming to him and has made his transition easier.

The same week he started his new job, he turned 40. He’s been handling it pretty well. We are inspired to change our lives in healthier ways. 40 is a crazy age. You remember when your parents turned 40 and you thought they were so “adult”. Now of course we realize they were just faking it, like we all do.  For his birthday, we went out for Thai food. Very yummy!

I also gave him a surprise party on the 16th. He was totally surprised. Days later, he’s still remembering things I did to keep it a secret that he is only now realizing was a ploy. Lots of friends came from all around. It was great connecting with people.

We did a photobooth to commemorate(:

Troy's Birthday-57

Chloe started back to CBC. She’s really liking her classes this quarter. Her Cinema writing class is by far her favorite with Pottery being her least favorite and the one that is making her push herself. I’m such a mean mom for insisting she take it.

Henry is getting ready to start HomeLink in February. It’s a homeschool program through the district that lets the kids take fun electives. He’s enrolled in: lego robotics, band, karate, and building/design. I’m excited to see him create friendships and work in a different type of classroom other than our house.

The kids got an xBox for the holidays. The gaming part I could care less about, but the streaming Netflix is AWESOME! Henry and I are getting ready to watch “Clash of the Titans”. I’m thinking this will start a fire for a love of mythology in him.

I’ve been doing a lot of planning. Thinking about homelife, personal projects, the business, and the future. My hair is driving me a bit crazy. Still not sure if I’m going to get dreads or not. I keep going back an forth on the matter. If I get them, it will be in April for my birthday.

I’ve been reading a lot. Just finished “The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie“by Alan Bradley. LOVED IT…..complete fluff. I need fluff now and again. I’m getting ready to start “The Happiness Project” by Gretchen Rubin. A goal for 2010 is to be happier. Who doesn’t want more of that?!

Henry is calling me to start the movie….I’ve got to oblige him he’s only 10 for 6 more months. (:
